In a show of commitment to New York State’s shelters and the homeless companion animals they serve, the FY23 budgets passed by the Legislature and signed by the Governor included $8M for the Companion Animal Capital Fund. This is a 60% increase over previous years’ funding. With this allocation, the State will have invested $28M in shelter capital projects across the state.
